Authenticity Policy

Last updated September 2026

How designer and luxury items are verified and badged.

Luxury listing requirements

Every Authenticated Luxury or designer listing must include the brand, a serial or date code where the item carries one, a condition grade, and authentication documentation uploaded for review. Receipt upload is optional but strengthens a request.

The dust bag and original box fields must state honestly whether those items are included.

Verification statuses

Authenticity Verified (gold) — reviewed and approved by GettinPlace staff. Documentation Provided (silver) — paperwork supplied but not independently verified. Seller Verified (blue) — the seller attests to authenticity. Verification Pending — under review. Not Verified — no claim made.

Only GettinPlace staff may grant the gold badge. Sellers may never self-apply it.

How review works

Our team examines the photos, serial or date code, hardware, stitching, and supplied documents. We may request additional photographs. Approval, downgrade, or rejection is recorded with a verification date and notes.

Verification is our documented opinion based on the material supplied. It is not a legal guarantee, and it does not replace the buyer protections in our Return & Refund Policy.

False claims and counterfeits

Claiming verification that was not granted, or listing a counterfeit, results in immediate removal of the badge and listing, a reversed sale, frozen payouts, and a permanent selling ban.

Buyers who believe a verified item is not genuine should open a dispute immediately; confirmed cases receive a full refund.
